Biography
Onno Krijn (1957) majored in both composition and (classical) piano at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, Holland. At the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, he followed advanced arranging classes under Manny Albam, Bill Dobbins, and Prof. Ray Wright.
OK is a versatile musician: He composes and produces film-music, music for the theatre and pop-music. On his lable NOON-records we find collaboration-projects with a host of musicians from the worldmusic-scene. As arranger, he wrote countless orchestrations and arrangements for renowned artists and various orchestras, among which we find Lionel Richie, Janka Rupkina, Dutch pop-diva Anouk and many others. His interest in world music stems from a young age, and can be heard throughout his work.
As a performing musician he was awarded the “Scheveningen begeleidersprijs” (award for best accompanying musician in a theatre-show) twice over the last few years. As musical director he traveled all over the world with the large stage-productions Female Factory (world/cross-over music from twelve different countries) and “Made in Holland”.(world/cross-over music from twenty different nationalities, all residing in Holland).
Onno Krijn is married to singer/music-theatre producer Leoni Jansen, and lives in Amsterdam.
